More and more unions are heeding UAW president Shawn Fain's call for a general strike and aligning heir contracts to end on May 1st, 2028.

What will it take to make this a credible threat? What can we do locally to build toward a 2028 General Strike? Join Madison Area Democratic Socialists of America for a panel and open discussion with union leaders and rank-and-file activists. Learn what you should do as a union member to prepare your fellow workers and your union to go on the offensive.

Join your comrades of all ages and enjoy the spring sun. Socialize, kick a soccer ball, toss a frisbee, play on the playground. Snacks and some sporting equipment provided but feel encouraged to bring your favorite park activity to share, or a camping chair.

Cuts to healthcare affect all of us. If you have a story about why Medicaid and Medicare matter and want to fight against the cuts to our services and for universal healthcare, save the date for a Hands Off Medicaid! Town Hall with Citizen Action Healthcare Organizer Tim Faust and WI State Representative (and MADSA member) Fran Hong. Come make your voice heard and hear from directly affected community members: 6pm, Saturday May 10th, at the Catholic Multicultural Center. More details to come.

This Leadership Roundtable is meant for those in leadership positions, but is open to any chapter members interested in learning more about chapter resources and discussing chapter work and leadership skills. This event will be in-person only at the Social Justice Center.

The first hour will cover chapter resources and is intended for new leaders who are less familiar with our chapter's resources. All others are welcome to come at 2pm instead of 1pm.
